KOOHI GOTH WOMEN'S HOSPITAL
& SCHOOL OF NURSING

Koohi Goth Women’s Hospital (KGWH) has been founded by the endeavors of socially conscious citizens of Karachi. The aim of the hospital is to provide free of cost quality
and modern treatment to poor females. At this facility pregnant women are provided with routine maternity as well as emergency care, who would otherwise perish due to lack of adequately trained personnel, medicine and equipment. Mothers who suffer from vesico vaginal fistula suffer from urinary incontinence and hence face abandonment from their
husband and families. They reach the hospital from far-flung areas for a simple operation, which is otherwise not available at fee-forservice hospitals. The hospital pledges to treat all patients suffering from various benign or malignant conditions of the female genital tract, irrespective of their caste, color or creed.

This hospital boasts to be a one window operation which registers the admission and discharge of the patients. As all care is free of charge, one does not find a cashier counter at the hospital. Renowned and experienced specialists volunteer their time and expertise to provide excellent maternity care round the clock. A rotation schedule has been chalked out which guarantees specialist care 24 hour a day. Koohi Goth Hospital is located in the pollution free outskirts of Karachi and is easily accessible from the National Highway. The encashment area of the hospital includes Landhi, Quaidabad, Korangi, Cattle Colony and the villages attached to Malir, Karachi. Access to the hospital, which is only 2 kilometers from the highway, has rekindled hope in the poor population of the area. Previously, pregnant females had to travel to distant overly populated charity hospitals and multiple fatalities occurred due to lack of timely intervention in emergent situation.

Currently the hospital is a 40 bed facility with well equipped labour and delivery area as well as 2 fully functional Operation Theatres. It is constantly undergoing expansion and improvement to fully accommodate the patient population of the area. To fulfill its commitments, the hospital solely relies on the generous and charitable donation from citizens of Karachi and abroad. In the United States of America, the donors can send their tax deductible contributions through National Health Forum. Your generous contributions will go a long way in bringinghope and smile to the suffer

The hospital has 4 full time paid junior doctors, while the OB/Gyn, Medicine and Anesthesia consultants volunteer their time. Total monthly expenditure is Rs. 107,0000 for the hospital, Rs. 2,50,000 for School of Midwifery and Rs. 7,40,000 for School of Nursing and Teaching. Total annual cost of the project is approximately Rs. 2,06,000,000 (21.6lak rupees per annum) The hospital does not charge a penny from its patients and runs entirely on charitable donations.
