Every dollar, accounted for.

National Health Forum is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity. Nobody on our board or staff is paid, so almost everything you give reaches the hospitals and programs we support in Pakistan. Here is what came in, what went out, and what it funded, straight from our IRS filings for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

What your donations funded

NHF does not run its own facilities. We raise money in the United States and grant it to established institutions on the ground, where it pays for patient care, surgery, midwifery training and medical education. Each grantee's accounts are reviewed by its own board and audited by a chartered accountant firm.

Koohi Goth Women Hospital, Karachi

Our largest and longest-standing partner, founded in 2005 with the Atia Zafar Foundation. KGWH is one of the few hospitals in Pakistan with specialist expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology, and it treats women and children from across Karachi and the country. It is best known for surgically repairing obstetric fistula, a devastating childbirth injury that affects roughly 100,000 women worldwide each year. NHF funds pay for inpatient and outpatient care that patients receive free of charge.

2023 grant: $515,290 · 2024 and 2025: principal grantee

School of Midwifery at Koohi Goth

A two-year midwifery programme with around 180 students enrolled and about 90 graduating every year. Students are admitted after completing high school in science subjects; those from other parts of Pakistan live in hostels on site. Every graduate has gone on to a job in the public or private sector, most of them in rural areas where a trained birth attendant can be the difference between life and death. The programme is also supported by the United Nations.

2023 grant: $160,000

Midland Doctors Association hospital, Kashmir

Built by UK-based doctors in Tandali village, about 20 km from Muzaffarabad, in the heart of the area devastated by the 2005 earthquake. The hospital sees around 25,000 patient visits a year, all treated free of charge, to NHS standards. The doctors volunteer their time and travel from the UK at their own expense to operate and run clinics.

2023 grant: $81,200

Your gift goes to the ward, not the office.

With no salaries to pay, NHF passes on more than nine-tenths of what it spends to hospitals and training programmes that treat patients free of charge. Donations are tax-deductible in the United States.
